^Hardware

Planned Features

-Get battery parameters in realtime by measuring battery voltage, current and temperature
-ANN(artificial-neural-network)-based algorithm for determining actual battery parameters
-Supported Parameters: SoC(state-of-charge, %), real capacity(Wh), self-discharge(W), efficiency(%), internal resistance (Ohms)
-Supported batteries: lead-acid, other types possibly later

Module Status

development of an application to create, mutate and train a neural network using a lead-acid battery simulation model. Current source-code available. If interested please contact developers on opencitt devel mailing list.

More coming soon, preparing separate SVN for hardware projects. Stay tuned...

Target Platform

To supply accurate data the battery monitoring module must be powered on all the time to see any current charging/discharging the battery, even when vehicle is off. Therefor, if complexity of the resulting neural network allows it, the battery monitoring module hardware will be based on ultra low power TI MSP430 microcontroller.
